The Teachers

Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura Sensei was born on the 28th August 1947 with the given name of Tsunehisa.

However, he later took the name "Shoto" meaning "the law of the sword". He was born in the town of Matsubushi in Saitama Prefecture, where he continues to live and operate the Hombu Dojo.

Jason Hindley is Dojo Cho (Chief Instructor) at the Kinkan Dojo and holds the title of Renshi. Jason teaches in the East London area (Ilford & Hornchurch) with the permission of Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura Sensei.

All of our instructors are enhanced DBS checked, first aid qualified, and internationally certified in order to provide your child with the highest quality instruction.

My son has come such a long way in the three years he has been attending, in terms of his physical ability and self belief! My 5 year old is still fairly new to Jujutsu but really enjoys it. The instructors are all so patient whilst still having high expectations. I can’t recommend this club enough!
